Dr. Pow obtained his bachelor (BDS) and master (MDS) degrees from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 1992 and 1995 respectively. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) in 1997 and Fellows of the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong (CDSHK) in prosthodontics and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in 2003. Dr. Pow obtained his PhD degree from HKU in 2007. He was also admitted as a Member in the specialty of prosthodontics of RACDS in 2008. Dr. Pow joined HKU as a Clinical Lecturer in Prosthetic Dentistry in 1995. He is currently a tenured Clinical Associate Professor and the Postgraduate Programme Director in Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, HKU. As a registered specialist in Prosthodontics, Dr. Pow has been actively working in various aspects of clinical prosthodontics for over 20 years. His research interests include prosthodontics, dental implants, biomaterials and medically compromised patients. Dr. Pow has developed many clinical techniques and published over 70 scientific and clinical articles and he won the Judson C. Hickey Scientific Writing Award (Dental Technique Category) of the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2015. He serves on the editorial board of the Clinical Oral Implants Research, Journal of Prosthodontics and Journal of Investigative and Clinical Dentistry. Dr. Pow is now the Supervisor of a training centre for prosthodontics in Hong Kong, the Vice-President (Education and Examinations) of the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong (CDSHK) and the President of Hong Kong Prosthetic Dentistry Society. He also serves on the Board of Studies in Prosthodontics of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS). He was also the Chair of Specialty Board in Prosthodontics of CDSHK and the Chair of the Asia Regional Committee of RACDS.
